found using ffox 1.0.2 candidate and recent ffox trunk builds.
0. setup: make sure you've turned ON find as you type, ie, selected the checkbox
under Advanced > Accessibility > "begin finding when you being typing"
1. go to http://maps.google.com
2. enter location (eg, street address + zipcode) in the Search textfield and hit
Enter.
3. in the resulting map page, focus will still be in the textfield, so hit the
Tab key to move focus out of there and into the page content (eg, a link is fine).
4. hit the + or - key to zoom in or zoom out.
results: zooming works, but the Find toolbar also appears, with + (or -)
appearing in its textfield.
not a problem when "begin finding when you being typing" is turned OFF.
Possibly a dupe of bug 215024?

I cannot reproduce this problem.
When working with Gmail sometimes the Quick Find buttons ' and / steal the focus away from the email being written.
There are also times the timeout never expires and the Quick Find mode is never disabled.
