Any time i attempt to download an .exe or other downloadable file, i get the
message that "this object has been blocked" appears where the browser page is.
I've enabled pages to download content but it hasn't helped

Also, when ever i attempt to download any extention install files, i get the
message that it couldn't be intalled because "not a valid installation package"
and i've asked for live support but no one can figure it out

CPU: Athlon XP 2500+
Mem: 512 MB
OS: XP SP2

thanks for any help

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to addons.update.mozilla.org
2.click on a Firefox extention's name
3.click "Install now"
4.select intall from the message box

Actual Results:
says "Firefox could not download the file at [URL of .xpi file] because: it is
not a valid installation package"

Expected Results:
shown that it would be installed after firefox restarted
Check if your firewall, antivirus software or your ISP or whatever you use to
connect to the internet blocks exe/xpi files.
well, afaik Firefox doesn't produce messages like "this object has been blocked"
