In section front pages within http://http://www.economist.com/ (eg,
http://www.economist.com/world/, http://www.economist.com/world/la/, etc),
inches of blank space displays between the top link for the feature article and
following links for other articles. On
http://www.economist.com/help/DisplayHelp.cfm?folder=663392 it says: "We
recommend that you use a current web-browser such as Microsoft's Internet
Explorer (5.5 or newer) or Mozilla." In IE6, no such white space displays. I
have informed the Economist via http://www.economist.com/help/contact.cfm.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open http://www.economist.com/world/ or http://www.economist.com/world/la/, etc.

Actual Results:
The page displays erroneously as described in "Details," above.

Expected Results:
No such white space should display, as in IE6.
Perhaps they should try to hire competent web coders. This page is a mishmash of
errors, the fact that IE displays it is solely due to the development and
testing of the page until IE displayed it as desired without regard for the
actual content.

Ever confirmed: true
Summary: Excessive white space breaks up page. → economist.com - horribly broken table layout causes excessive white space breaks up page.
I see no difference in rendering between IE7 and Firefox/trunk.
Firefox is also listed as a supported browser at http://www.economist.com/help/DisplayHelp.cfm?folder=663392
