i am publishing an ics file on a linux (RH9) server using mod_dav from my
computer at work (windows XP). i initially published the calendar, then
subscribed to it without problems. a couple of days later, when trying to
remotely reload the calendar, sunbird erased the whole calendar, and trying to
add events is impossible. then when i tried subscribing from another XP client
(my home computer), it loaded the calendar correctly. today it went around the
other way, my computer at work loaded the calendar, but the one at home tried to
reload and erased all the events.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. sunbird starts with last version of calendar, correctly displaying events.
2. reload remote calendar from webdav folder on an https connection.
3. all events are erased from calendar, locking that calendar.

Actual Results:
all events were erased

Expected Results:
events should have been updated from changes done on office computer.

Hello Jorge,

are you still experiencing this error? Have you tried the latest nightlies? If so and the bug is stil there, please post (or email me) your server configuration regarding mod_dav and your DAV share. Please also include the type of authentication you are using and your filesystem permissions for the dav folder and its contents.

If you are not experiencing this anymore, please close this bug with WORKSFORME
Hi Philipp,

I stopped using Sunbird for this same reason, and it's been more than a year, so I'll just close the bug.

Thanks,

Jorge

Jorge, thank you for your quick response.

We are still interested if this can be reproduced. This may be a very important bug if it turns out to be reproducable. The last thing we would want is a version of Sunbird or Lightning that gives the user the feeling that his data has been lost.

You would do the calendar team a big favor if you would download the latest nightly from [1] (currently mozilla1.8 directory is the latest because of 0.3.1) and test this again, if possible with the same server configuration.

Thanks in advance,
Philipp
