User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225 Firefox/1.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225 Firefox/1.0.1 Hi, I have a GPO that restricts applications that users can run. Firefox is in the ALLOWED list. When in Outlook 2003, a user clicks on a URL and the GPO is in effect, then outlook displays a dialog box with "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." The user can launch Firefox properly from the desktop. When the GPO is removed, firefox launches corectly when the link is clicked on. PC is running XP+SP1 + Jan05 patches. Firefox 1.0.1 is the default browser. If i change the default browser back to IE then Outlook will launch IE ok. There is a MS article (Q310049) but it doesnt help. I found that rundll32 is laucched according to the registered file type for a URL. I've added it in the allowed applications in the GPO. The same result. I've disabled dde and put firefox manually in the URL file type and again the same result. Any suggestions? George Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create new GPO. 2. Add firefox, outlook etc in GPO: "User Configuration" ->"Admin templates" ->System ->"Run only allowed applications" 2. Log in as user with GPO in effect. 3. Click on a URL in an email. 4. Dialog should appear.

Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
