Details

To prevent crashes and freezes, a few not-so-nice hacks were added to the
datepicker. See bug 278877 and the end of bug 199779. These are workarounds, but
the freezes should be fixed properly.

I think this is related to bug #396417 which removes the lines added by bug #278877 mentioned in comment #1.

Felix, thanks for your bug triage work, very much appreciated! I think its sufficient if you add a comment to only one of the two candidate bugs. Add the comment to the bug that will most likely be the duplicate (i.e the one without the patch)
