Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225 Firefox/1.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050225 Firefox/1.0.1

In Thunderbird 1.0, the compose window often forgets the custom HTML font
setting (made with Tools->Options->Composition->HTML Options).

It switches over to Variable-Width/Medium.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Change font setting with Tools->Options->Composition->HTML Options to
Arial/Small.
2. Move cursor to your mail signature and come back to start.

(The same can be seen when you add a new bullet point (li) in the middle of two
existing ones.)

Actual Results:
Font face and size would be changed to Variable-Width and Medium. There is no
way of coming back to your custom setting with explicitly selecting text and
changing font dace and size from the font toolbar.

Expected Results:
It should keep my custom setting!

The fact that you can't "select all" and set things to a common size also makes
it very hard to fix this problem. One must select all "medium" size text
individually and "decrease font size".

I think this is a serious usability concern.
