That's why there are both "Exit" and "Close Window" menu items. Check the
process list, there is only ever one copy of Firefox running.

Send me details for this bugs.there are no option of "close windows"
On the Firefox File menu there's an Exit item (exit the entire application) at
the bottom, and 5th and 6th item from the top you will find Close Window and
Close Tab.

Don't reopen a bug unless you have a *VERY GOOD REASON* to do so, which you
haven't obviously. This is not some kind of whining forum. A senior developer
has decided that your bug is INVALID and so it is.

File - Exit will always shutdown Firefox completely. If you want to close a
single window, use File - Close Window.

You appear to be talking about (maybe?) XUL apps built on the Gecko engine
rather than multiple browser windows. If you're talking about browser windows
then you disagree with our design but that's not going to make us change it.
There are two distinct actions, "close this window" and "close all windows". We
support both. Get in the habit of closing windows (Ctrl-W or Ctrl-shift-W is
easier than using the menu) rather than using the Exit menu item.

If you're talking about non-browser apps built on Gecko then the eventual future
is going to be based on XUL-runner, and this issue will be addressed (we don't
want Firefox-exit to shut down Thunderbird and vice-versa).
