User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 In this installation, every time I have several windows open, if I close the first window, the others cease to respond, they still show the webpage they had loaded, but clicking on links has no effect, favicons dissapear (that's generally how I realized i commited the mistake of closing the first one) and images and icons on menus and context menus also dissappear. I've tried reinstalling it several times, and every time the same happens Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open firefox on WXP 2.do a ctrl+n to open a new window (or shift-click on some link) 3.close first window 4. try and click on one of the links still open in the remaining window Actual Results: Windows left open cease to respond, have to close them all and reopen firefox for it to go away. It will not even let me bookmark anything Expected Results: all windows should've kept working normally. I'm willing to send you any information about my installation, a copy of the registry, or whatever.
Summary: Crash if I close first windows when multiple windows are open → Crash if I close first window when multiple windows are open
Do you get the same problem if you run Firefox in the safemode ?
I've just tried safemode, and the issue does not happen. I believe it might be related to one of the extensions I have installed. Star Downloader Integration or the Googlebar
Solved it, it was the Star Downloader Integration extension. Uninstalled Star downloader and the extension and it solved the problem completely.
