Details

One can Empty the Trash, but there's no use in trying to "compact" it. This option should either be grayed-out or hidden for the Trash context-menu. See also Bug 105930 that requested this this option would actively do *something*. Prog.
compacting the trash does the same thing as compacting any other folder. If you delete some messages from the trash, you need to compact the trash to regain space.
