When switching between newsgroups and email, the sort options and watch options
disappear.

ie. In a newsgroup: I have sort by date, a watch set on an item, and I have the
item labeled as Important.

I get an email, switch to Inbox(or any other folder) to check the email, and
when I return to news, the sort order, the watch, and the label are gone.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:  
The watch, label, and sort order MUST remain the same

Does this problem happen with every newsgroup, or just one particular one?
Does it happen for (any) mail folders also, or just newsgroups?

If this happens just for one newsgroup, try:
 - close TB
 - delete the .MSF file associated with the newsgroup
     found in: <profiledir>\News\<account>
 - restart TB
 - reset the sort etc
 - leave the group and return

It happens with any one of the newsgroups that I frequent.

WFM version 1.6a1 (20051113) win 2000.
Does this also fail for you with a nightly version??

Unfortunately, I use Thunderbird for business purposes, and cannot afford to put beta builds in every night. I need to be able to ensure that all my stuff is always available.

However, that being said, since I have moved my Thunderbird datafiles to a new folder on a different drive, the problems with sort order and labels disappearing seem to have disappeared...no clue why. Now I seem to be having problems with my filters disappearing...
