Details

When you reply in a mail message, the blinking caret does not match the actual insertion point for the text. Reply to a message, type some text, hit return, and the caret remains at the end of the first line, but if you then begin typing text, the text is inserted in the second line. Build ID - 2000-02-21-08 (commercial) Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Mail (Tasks | Mail) 2. (After authenticating, if necessary), select a mail message from the message thread pane 3. Reply to all recipients of the message ("Reply All" from the Mail toolbar) Note: A mail compose window is drawn, the original message is correctly quoted, and focus is set to the message body composition area. 4. Type some text in the message body (e.g., "foobar") 5. Hit return Expected: New line inserted, blinking caret moves to new line Actual: New line inserted, blinking caret stays at the end of the first line 6. Type some text Expected: Text is inserted in line 2 at the position of the blinking caret Actual: Text is inserted in line 2, even though blinking caret started out at the end of line 1
Nominating for beta1. Users will hit this bug every time they reply in mail (high frequency), and the result is very disorienting (I begin typing at a place other than where the caret is).
