User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050323 Camino/0.8+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050323 Camino/0.8+ If the window is scaled so that the animated gifs are not shown, the CPU usage goes back to normal levels and the lag disappears. The cursor jumps so erratically with animated gifs in the view that it actually shows up through other tabs sometimes. This does not even require large animated gifs as I have put in my test case; a simple small animated emoticon like in phpBB forums will slow it to a crawl. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to a page with animated gif and a text field 2. select text field 3. scream in agony Actual Results: CPU usage is around ~50% with textfield selected, spikes to ~90% while typing with gifs in view, drops to ~10% when the window is resized to block the gifs, or ~30% when the textfield is deselected with the gifs in view.
