The spell checker is not enabled in Mail compose, but is enabled in the Composer
component.
Build ID - 2000-02-21-08
Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Mail (Tasks | Mail)
2. Open a Mail compose window ("New Msg" from Mail toolbar)
Note: There is no spell checking button on the compose window toolbar, and there
is no "Check Spelling" item in the "Options" menu.
3. Open Composer component (Tasks | Composer)
Note: There *is* a spell checking button on the main toolbar (and it works!),
and there is a "Check Spelling" item in the "Edit" menu.

For Beta 2, if there is a visible button that the user can click to cause spell
checking to happen, we should try to be happy with that. I don't think we'd
hold shipment to get a more rich spell checking experience.
This bug should be limited to making the button show up in the message compose
toolbar.

I'd like to nominate this for beta2. This is one of the top 10 features that
people think are missing from beta1

Seconding that motion.

How much work is there for this feature? Do we need to get this into M16 to
make feature complete, or is this more of a bug that can wait until afterwards?
I don't think we want this one to slip past feature complete if there's a lot
of work for this.

Doing the basic functionality would be almost free as editor did alredy all the
job. However, skipping some part of the message liket the quote material (reply)
will take more time and has dependency on editor team.

The basic functionality is there. I still have to do some work on the dialog but
I already have bugs filed for that.
