Now that the new project pages have gone live on caminobrowser.org, the default/first launch homepage (on new installs) is still <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/welcome.html> and contains links to pages that are outdated by the new pages. Two of the default set's bookmarks (in the "Camino Info" toolbar folder) are also to pages on the old project site. The first, "Camino" is to <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/> which redirects. The second, "Camino Feedback" is to <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/feedback.html>, like the default homepage, includes links to old projects pages (as well as one bad link to an anchor on the former project homepage). Ideally these are simple fixes that could be dobe for 0.8.3, but time might be too short or the fixes more complex :-)

We had this discussion on IRC a couple of times. The main page for new installs will remain on m.o's servers. I think that we should move it to the products section and remove the projects section entirely. If the other links remain the same (which they probably will), the feedback page should at least redirect to our "contact" page. I'm targeting for 0.9 as this should be done by then. Mike, how does all that sound?

On related matter, 4 of the 5 "URL" items in the Help menu point to outdated pages on the old site (the fifth, Camino Project Page, redirects).

(In reply to comment #2) > what exactly are you suggesting? i'm not following? Basically, I'm saying that we should setup redirects for those pages to the new site on mozilla.org. This has a couple of advantages. First, people go straight to the new site and everything stays "themed". Second, if for whatever reason cb.o should go down, the links still point to mozilla.org and the redirects can simply be turned off. Changing the links to point to a "non-permanent" server is really the issue that Mike has, and I agree with that. Setting up htaccess redirects would solve this.

Mike, don't resolve this bug, specifically the link to the new start page, until bug 293063 is resolved.

Alright Mike, here are the old and new links to update (preferably before 09a1): 1) Camino Feedback: setup redirect at mozilla.org/projects/camino/feedback.html to caminobrowser.org/support/sup_contact.html 2) Release Notes: setup redirect at mozilla.org/products/camino/releases/0.9a1.html to caminobrowser.org/releases/09a1.html (note the lack of the . in the filename) 3) Tips and Trick: setup redirect at mozilla.org/products/camino/features/tipsTricks.html to caminobrowser.org/support/ 4) Customizing Search Engines: setup redirect at mozilla.org/products/camino/features/searchCustomization.html to caminobrowser.org/support/docs/doc_search.html That should do it. We're setting up the start page as mentioned in bug 293063 so don't change that yet. Once these redirects are setup, the start page is the last thing to do and we can resolve this bug. (Also, as a side note, the link for the release notes in the 09a1 nightlies is broken.)

Mike, bug 293063 landed so you can update one more link as follows: 5) Redirect mozilla.org/projects/camino/welcome.html to caminobrowser.org/start/
