Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050325 Firefox/1.0+

After a new install of Windows 2000 Pro SP4 I have tried several installs of
Firefox and Mozilla but have the identical problem. While browsing hangs
become more frequent and longer. The program churns away and the Task Manager
shows that it is using 100% of CPU processing. IE works fine, as do all other
programs. I have tried turning off Trend Micro PC-cillin firewall, and also
switching to Zone Alarm. I have turned off all startup programs from the
registry and it has not helped

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start Firefox (or Mozilla)
2.Browse on or offline
3.

Actual Results:
Browser hangs, CPU runs at 100%. When I try to close Firefox I get a message
that the program is not responding

Expected Results:
Firefox browses without hanging or crashing

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.
