Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2

After I formatting my system, changed partitions around, and re-installed
windows (and Firefox 1.2), I imported my saved bookmarks. Since then anytime I
start Firefox the following error dialog appears:

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive
\Device\Harddisk1\DR5."

I then have to click the Continue button 4 - 6 times before it goes away.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
see Details
Actual Results:
Firefox continued to load as normal

Expected Results:
not show that dialog error everytime
Here's my workaround:

After spending an hour this morning hacking around in the Mozilla Profiles
directory, I figured out the problem.

First I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and initially the problem went away,
until I imported my bookmarks and the problem re-appeared. This gave me a clue!

So I looked in the bookmarks.html in the profiles directory and then it hit me:
I had previously bookmarked some local html files on my system (before I
re-partitioned and re-formatted). So what once was: file:///c:/foo.html, was
now: file:///d:/foo.html.

But because I was using old bookmarks that pointed to the old file locations, it
caused this error dialog to popup.

So I deleted these invalid bookmarks and now the problem is solved.

Proposed solution: If firefox finds an invalid file:/// url, it should either
ignore it, or notify the user and remove it. Ideally, it would notify the user
and give the user the option to: 1. delete it 2. look for the new location, but
that might be asking for too much.

Thanks!
