User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 I've tried this in IE and it works fine. I have multiple gmail accts and tried to access a different one for the first time today. The webpage works correctly if i do not put in a correct password/ login. but as soon as a correct loggin attempt is made the gmail opens the first account ever used on firefox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Log into Gmail 2.Exit Gmail 3.Log into Gmail ass different account 4. Gmail loads 1st account. Actual Results: The first account is always loaded. I've attempted this over 9x times. Expected Results: Loaded the account I logged into. I think it has to do with the password thingy. I havn't messed with it tho. I just use IE when i need the other acct. Not a big hassle.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050401 Firefox/1.0+ Logging into and out of various gmail accounts works for me. Do you have the gmail notification extension installed? that sometimes causes strangeness.

Summary: When logging into different Gmail accounts Firefox Always Opens the 1st account ever opened... → When logging into different Gmail as Firefox Always Opens the 1st account ever opened...ccount
I was using Firefox 1.0.6 and didn't have a problem with switching between GMAIL accounts. A fresh install of Windows XP SP2 and all updates done. No other software yet. Installed the BETA 1 version of Firefox. Log into one GMAIL account. Logging out and getting the fresh page for loggin in (apparently logging out successfully). Then log into other account with using completely different login/password combination. Results are I get logged into the original account.
(In reply to comment #3) > I was using Firefox 1.0.6 and didn't have a problem with switching > between GMAIL accounts. Are you saying that the logging in and logging out works as you would expect? If so, in view of the passage of time, this report can probably be closed as WORKSFORME. We don't know why it didn't work (or didn't seem to work) for the Reporter six months ago.
This bug is an issue in the 1.5 BETA 1 release as of Sept. 20. It works just fine in earlier versions of Firefox and I've never had a problem. In my earlier post where I said the log in and log out appears to work as it should, it does. The problem is when you 'log in' to a different account. The web page displaying the log out screen for gmail appears as it should. You get bounced back to the main prompt to log into a gmail account. Upon logging into the a different gmail account, the browser seems to hold the data/password for the last log in and pass that data rather than what is in the form. Then you get logged into the first account.
Thank you. If this is a defect which is present in 1.5 and not 1.0.6 then again, it may warrant a new Report, but not if you are happy to have it discussed here. You might want to look at my comment 1 , though this might be on the wrong lines. I am not sure that many people use numerous gmail accounts from the same browser session (whilst it might be pushing it, it seems not to be specificaly forbidden by the gmail TOS), so you may find that this will not receive a lot of attention. Is there a setting in gmail which might help you? Do not remember me on this computer or something?
I have this same problem in version 1.5 Beta 2. After "upgrading", I now have this problem when trying to use my multiple gmail accounts. The first account always stays active after logging back in with another gmail account. Never had this problem with other browsers and with the previous stable version of Firefox. (I use both Windows XP SP2 fully updated and Fecora Core 4 Linux operating systems.)
Please comment in the bug - Do you still see this problem? (reporter, XMD, is gone)

I can't reproduce this at all using Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.4.9 and Windows XP SP 2. If you're still able to reproduce this using Firefox 2.0.0.3 or later with a clean profile, please reopen this bug. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
