I just bought a new computer, running Windows XP Professional edition Swedish
version with Service Pack 1 (Service Pack 2 can not be installed when using AMD
Athlon 64 for Socket 939). I installed Firefox 1.0.2 Swedish version, downloaded
from Mozilla's homepage. After the installation is completed, I choice to start
Firefox, but after about half a minute it crashes. It have not started up at
all. I only get the Windows own message that the application have meat a problem
and have to be closed (the error report in Windows XP).
Firefox can not be started up at all, not eaven in safe mode. The same occurs
after a reinstall of Firefox (Installation downloaded 2005-04-03 14:17/2.17PM).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start up Firefox in Regular mode or Safe mode
Actual Results:
It crashes before I can see the Firefox window. And windows want to send an
error report to Microsoft.

Expected Results:
Start up, so I can use it.

Talkback have not give me any crash ID.

My computer configuration:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 939
Motherboard: MSI K8N Diamond
RAM: 512MB DDR 400MHz
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition (Swedish version) with Service
Pack 1

One file was attached to the error report. I will attach it to this bug report.
apparently ""Fullsoft.dll is part of the new Netscape Quality Feedback Agent
that is included in Communicator 4.5. This program allows you to report any
crashes that occur in Communicator so that Netscape can more easily locate
problems in the program and correct them.""

So it looks like the Talkback Agent (which I'm assuming uses fullsoft.dll) is
crashing after firefox crashes?
*** Bug 288841 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I could not attach the file from Microsoft error report to this bug report.

But after submotting this bug report Firefox started up as normal, but it took
one and a half minute. And now it starts up completly normal, at only a few
secound. Wierd!

Talkback Agent never crashed, it was running normal in backround.

I'm sorry for the dubblepost of this bug-report. But when I got a message that
someone elsa has replyed to this whiele I was typing, I tryed to go back to the
bug report and then it did a new one.
Don't worry about double posts - happens all the while.
As an aside, is there a reason why you are not using SP2 on your WinXP install?
It is not available on Windows Update. I tried an offline installer downloaded
from the Windows Catalog, but then I only got blue screens under the boot-up and
the system reboted. So I had to uninstall it in safe-mode.
