I just love Mozilla sidebars and I tend to jump all the time between Search,
Bookmarks, and History sidebars. Firefox has changed the logic how to handle
sidebars from "tabbed" mode to "there can be only one" mode. This is still
something I could live with, but the way to change the sidebar in FF is a
catastrophy and really a song of unusability.

I do not know the history why very nice and well working Sidebar-handling in
Mozilla was broken in FF. If you can not for some reason bring back the sidebar
tabs, please at minimum provide a context sensitive popup menu in sidebar from
where I can select the tab I fish to use at the time. Currently it is possible
only to either use keyboard shortcuts (ctrl+h and ctrl+b) or by selecting
View->Sidebar->Bookmars/History/Whatever.

I find both current FF ways cumbersome, but the old Mozilla way was very usable
due "one-mouse-click" interface. Sidebar manager was good idea in Mozilla too.

This has been the one and only issue in Firefox that has made me to stay on
Mozilla suite. Now as Mozilla suite is in EOL I am forced to move to Firefox (or
some other browser) quite soon. So I hope this will be "corrected" in some near
future version of FF.

Sorry but the design decision has already been made. Mozilla style sidebars will
not be returning to Firefox. You can check http://www.extensionsmirror.nl and
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=19 to see if there is an extension
that gives you what you want.
