User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox and I was trying to store a password but it asks for the master password. When I go to set my master password it will not allow me, it tells me I have to change my password that I never set to begin with. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to Tools, select Options 2.Go to Saved Password 3. Actual Results: My only option is to change my password, but I do not have a previous password. Expected Results: Gave me the option to create a new password.

Something went wrong in your profile, and now you need to reset your master password. See here how to you can do that : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_password There will be improvement to the master password GUI in Firefox 1.1 that will make easy to reset the password and no more require the arcane method described in the kb, they are already available in the trunk version. Closing the bug.
