When I go to page http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/grant.html and try to look
for 'cipher' (which is obviously present on the page), Find bar gives me beep
after I type 'cip' and says 'Phrase not found'. If I enter 'cipher' in googlebar
and click on 'cipher', it finds the text very well, but standard Find does not work.

Reproducible: Always
Update: sometimes, it does not give beep and lets me type whole 'cipher',
without beeping, but still does not find any occurence in page after clicking on
'Find Next'.
I've observed this behavior too, intermittantly, but I attribute it to either:

255193 "Find in this page" is stuck to an old tab after tab focus is changed
to the new one
281929 when I open a new tab the fast find still searching in the old tab

From the problem you described, it seems possible you are experiencing one of
these bugs instead. Do you have multiple tabs open? If you do, you could
arrange to type a word that exists on another tab when you view
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/grant.html. If you fail to find it on the
grant.html page, but click over to the other page and find the word highlighted,
then you know you are experiencing one of the other bugs.

If this is the case, it would explain why you sometimes get "Phrase not found"
(because the tab firefox is searching doesn't contain "cipher) or sometimes find
behaves as if it found it, but nothing changes in your current tab (because
"cipher" IS in another tab)
Yes, it can be so - I work with multiple tabs all the time. Due to
non-consistent appearance of the bug, I can not say if it is indeed because of
that, but it seems to be very likely.
Yes, I have the same problems with the 8th May 2005 nightly build of the trunk -
no idea why it is happening though! I tried the changing tab thing and it didn't
fix it for me.
