No websites will load  - I get a message that says "can't find server"

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select firefox icon on desk top

Actual Results:  
I see a message that says firefox can't find server.

Expected Results:  
firefox should display my home web page (Yahoo) so I can navigate the web.

I bought the firefox disc, but browser can't find server.  I don't use a proxy 
because I connect through a modem and router to cable.
You must configure your windows Firewall correctly.
That is either the in Windows integrated Firewall or third party software like
Zone Alarm.
