User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20041013 Firefox/0.9.3 (Ubuntu) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20041013 Firefox/0.9.3 (Ubuntu) Pretty much every time I try to put anything into the google search the browser crashes. Sometimes it will freeze and I'll have to kill it. And about 33% of the time when I input characters into a input form for example google.com's search field it will crash or freeze. Pecularity: if I put my curser in the field and space over 2-3 times it more than likely won't crash. uname -a output: Linux server 2.6.8.1-5-amd64-generic #1 Thu Mar 31 22:15:42 UTC 2005 x86_64 GNU/Linux Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insert characters into the google search (freeze) 2. Or insert characters into other forms 3. Actual Results: firefox either A) crashes completely out, or B) freezes and I have to kill it. Expected Results: not crash, basically.

Check with the people who produced your x86_64 build (ubuntu ?) This is not a standard build, and you should check with them why your install isn't working. It's outside of mozilla's bugzilla scope to investigate on such general problems on a platform not supported and a binary not produced by mozilla.org. If Ubuntu investigates and comes back with a request to check in a patch to solve that problem, it's another matter altogether, but I don't expect they would have released a version with such a major problem, so it's certainly something broken in your install. Go to Ubuntu related ressources to check.
