Mark a mail for followup. Currently, Thunderbird allows me to mark a mail
message. However, it does not create a shortcut in a followup folder. (Refer to
outlook 2003 functionality). Here is what I would expect :

1. I visit a folder. Select a message(mail) which I want to followup.
2. Mark it for followup.
3. It marks the message as well as adds a shortcut to "followup" folder in root
folder tree.
4. I should be able to visit the followup folder and see all the mails marked
for followup.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I visit a folder. Select a message(mail) which I want to followup.
2. Mark it for followup.

Actual Results:
1. It marks the message as well as adds a shortcut to "followup" folder in root
folder tree.

Expected Results:
1. I should be able to visit the followup folder and see all the mails marked
for followup.
you can do this by creating a search results folder that searches on "marked
messages". Once you've set this up, it should work very similarly to the Outlook
follow-up folder.

In your inbox, do a edit | find | search messages.

search for messages whose "status" is "flagged". When you get your results back,
click "save as search folder" and give the folder the name "Followup".

I tried to do this. However, if I do edit | find | search messages and then
search for "status". There are only 4 options :
1. Replied.
2. New.
3. Read.
4. Forwarded.

There is no option for "Flagged" as you suggested. I am using Thunderbird 1.0.2
release version. (20050317). Is this option available in development branch?

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
