1. Yes, I know you want us to upgrade to the latest Acrobat Reader, yet I knew
people up in Seattle who worked for Adobe and they told me about the tracking
components in the newer versions of AR so I'm still using 4.0 which works just
fine to view doccuments in. The problem here is that the Download Manager
freezes up during the download process some of the time and hitting cancel does
nothing to free it up forcing a complete shutdown of the browser and sometimes a
full restart.
2. Part of the time when you download a file a new firefox window opens in
addition to the download manager window and part of the time the new window Does
Not Open. If we're downloading .pdf files can the browser be set to not open a
new window since AR has to open one anyway (I prefer the AR independent window
over the IE in browser window, so I'm glad about that).
3. Can we have the option in the browser of choosing to automatically open the
.pdf file just downloaded or to leave it in the download manager until we choose
to open it? Most of the time now I have to go and do this manually to view the
.pdf file.
4. Sometimes the Download Manger closes it's window after the download and I
have to go open it back up to open the file. Can a fix be made to let us choose
to keep the DM window either open or close it after a download.
5. Can we also have an option to get rid of that little sliding window above the
system tray telling us that the download is finished? Try and open a .pdf while
that's doing it's thing and watch the .pdf freeze up until it's done.
6. Just in case you're wondering, these issues happen with both of my computers
a). A Dell Lattitude CP, win98 with 96mb ram at 366 and b). An E-machines (JUNK)
Celeron 433 with win98se and 128mb ram. Also I used to work with a large format
graphics house in Seattle that had an IRIS, 2 Rastors & 1 Xerox (e-stats) plus
one HP inkjet (for blueprints) & at a Service Bureau with an AGFA SelectSet &
AccuSet, Scitex & several drum scanners. I admit that I probably sound like a
novice to you all here, yet my intentions are well meaning. Thanks for your
work on this since even with a few bugs at the beginning, this browser is still
kicking A**! and Rome wasn't built in a day either.
