Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050201
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050201
After displaying an embedded editor in a web page, if the user leaves the web
page and later visits a web page with a meta refresh, the meta refresh will be
ignored; the user will not be redirected to the proper web site. This problem
persists for all pages that use meta refresh until the Firefox / Mozilla is
restarted.
This makes it difficult to justify the use of Javascript add-ons such as TinyMCE
1.43 (http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/) and HTMLArea 3.0rc1
(http://www.dynarch.com/projects/htmlarea/) -- it is not nice to put the browser
into a state that will cause problems for the user when they visit other sites.
I've reproduced this problem with Firefox 1.0.2, Mozilla 1.7.6, and Mozilla 1.8b
20050201 all on MacOS 10.3.8. I've also verified that the problem occurs with
Mozilla 1.4 on Solaris 8.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load the page http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/
2. Load the page http://www-personal.umich.edu/~markmont/mozilla-redirect.html
This page should redirect you to http://www.mozilla.org/ (There should be
nothing special about this page; any page that contains a meta redirect should
reproduce the problem).
Actual Results:
The page in step 2 renders properly but the refresh never occurs. Here is the
page source for easy reference:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0; URL=http://www.mozilla.org/">
<title>Redirecting to mozilla.org</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>You should be redirected to mozilla.org shortly.</p>
</body>
</html>
Expected Results:
The refresh should occur after the specified interval (in this case, right away).

This is a duplicate of bug 209020, which has been fixed. The problem no longer
occurs when building from source later than 20050223.
I did three different searches for dups before submitting this, really!
Apologizes to all for the noise.
