I've just encountered a new form of spam with embedded base 64 coding, When
viewed in the mail reading pane, the spam comes across as plain text, when you
attempt to view the source of the message using control 'u' it comes across as a
base 64 file with headers visible, nothing else, no html no text viewable or
similar. The spam has embedded email links that I cannot report correctly.

I think the spammers have found a serious bug in Thunderbird...

Reproducible: Always
I can see how this is annoying, but base64 is part of the mail standard. There
are webpages and bookmarklets that will translate base64 for you.
