Live Bookmarks are an excellent way to consume RSS and Atom feeds. However,
every feed that I've looked at (not too many) have a pubdate, dc:date, or
updated/issued. With these dates, it would be trivial for Firefox to restrict
items older than the item in the feed which the user had last viewed. This
option would require the user to browse the feeds in chronological order, but I
would happily do so since it would drastically reduce the number of items
displayed, and would only exclude the items I had viewed or didn't want to view.
This would make browsing a news feed much easier.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new Live Bookmark.
2. View an item from the bookmark listing
3.

Actual Results:
The Live Bookmark still shows the item just viewed as well as older items.
While not a bug, this makes checking a news feed significantly more tedious.

Expected Results:
Allowed me to select an option (maybe about:config or in Preferences) to hide
all old feed items.

For a bug similar in code change but different in functionality, see
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264840.
Summary: option to hide all items after the date given by the RSS pubdate of the item you last viewed in that feed → option to hide all old Live Bookmark items (i.e. older than the RSS pubdate of the item you last viewed in that feed)
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01".

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

sorry for bugspam, long-overdue mass reassign of ancient QA contact bugs, filter on "beltznerLovesGoats" to get rid of this mass change

i think hiding them is not a good idea, what if you later need to look again at a page? bug 386115 is probably a better way to handle this and is more generic on the way to do that.
