Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.2 (X11/20050317) I have configured Thunderbird such that it automatically saves any outgoing e-mail in the "Sent" subfolder on my IMAP server. Now, if this "Sent" subfolder is the current folder while composing mail and I send the message, it does NOT immediately show up in the "Sent" folder. Only if I go to another IMAP folder and then back to the "Sent" folder, the message becomes visible. This is *not* related to the synchronization interval with the IMAP server, since the Windows version does not have this problem: there any sent mail immediately shows up, even if the "Sent" folder is the current folder while composing and sending a message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to IMAP inbox and select "Sent" subfolder 2. Compose e-mail and send it. 3. E-mail will not show up in "Sent" folder. 4. Select other IMAP directory and then select "Sent" folder again. 5. E-mail now appears in "Sent" folder. Expected Results: ON Windows versions of Mozilla and Thunderbird, step 4 is not required and sent mail appears immediately in "Sent" folder after step 2.

Did you select "Check this folder for new messages" in the Sent folder's properties?

It's been longer than that now. I have yet to see this bugzilla accomplish anything based on any of the issues I've been watching. The Sent items issue is a little broader than this. Even if you compose your message while in a different folder, the headers may show up in the Sent folder, but the message itself is not downloaded/synchronized until you go and click on it, even if all the proper Offline options are selected to have it download. This makes it really quite slow if you've composed a bunch of messages (with attachments) and then want to go and look at the ones that you've sent -- you have to wait for each one to download before looking at it. Why not just cache it locally while copying it to the IMAP server?

closing as WFM. Feel free to reopen if you still experience this issue with a recent build.
