I use web sites for greeting cards with sound and animations, jokes from the
websites are emailed to friends. Many times I have tried and could not use
Firefox as it does not incorporate the plugin that this browser wants. I
redownloaded the Quicktime twice and this is still a unresolved problem. I have
had to use Explorer to be able to use the joke/greeting card web sites and this
also happens with WebShots. Their website is for free screensaver/wallpaper
photos and email cards. Many also feature animation and sound. I do not have the
sound feature when I use the Firefox. Same plugin problem.
Reproducible: Always

url does not work, is it the correct one?

http://www.funsilly.comspringfever.shtml/ is an invalid address.
However, I have come across another site, which has the same described problem:
http://stabbing.pokelondon.com - could this therefore be changed to the URL for
this bug? (Also, in summary - 'exising' should be 'existing')
Steps:
1. Go to http://stabbing.pokelondon.com
2. It will say that a plugin is required, so click on install missing plugins
button.
3. It says it requires Apple Quicktime 6.5.1, and to click next to install it.
(Note that I already have Apple Quicktime 6.5.2 installed, with all required
plugins in the plugins folder).
4. Click Next. Now it says that the plugin is not available.
5. Click the 'manual install' button. This will go to a page on apple.com which
does not even exist. (ie. 404 page appears)
According to about: , I am using:
Deer Park 1.0+
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050530
Firefox/1.0+
The following entries regarding Quicktime in about:plugins are:

I have come across this bug before, and looking into it via a Google search,
found many message board posts from people who are having exactly the same
problem. This is clearly a significant bug in Firefox which needs to be fixed
immediately. It is a bug with the plugin service because it is providing links
to broken pages on apple.com, but also because firefox is not initialising the
quicktime plugin when it is installed.
Finally, the tag which seems to be causing the problem in the page is:
<embed src="uktvstabbinng.mpg" width="288" height="260" class="movie"></embed>
