User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050409 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050409 If one goes to Bookmarks and opens 'Manage Bookmarks', perhaps moves or searches for a bookmark, and then closes the 'Manage Bookmarks' window, Mozilla frequently quits. This seems to happen more often when one also has Mail & Newsgroups open and is composing an e-mail message. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open "Manage Bookmarks'. Possible do something like searching for a bookmark. 2.Close the window. 3.If Mail & Newsgroups is also open and one is composing a message, click 'Mail & Newsgroups' in the Window menu. Actual Results: Either at 2. or at 3., Mozilla quits and the Talkback application opens. Expected Results: Mozilla should have remained active. eMac, OS X 10.3.8, Classic theme.

I should have added that this is a fairly recent instability. It occurs in Build 2005040712 (as well as 2005040912), but does not occur in Build 2005033110.

I have investigated this further. It's simpler -- and worse -- than I thought. One does not have to have Mail open at all. If Navigator is open, one goes to 'Manage Bookmarks' and then closes the latter, everything remains OK. If, however, when one has opened 'Manage Bookmaarks', one clicks in the search pane at the top of the window (even if one does not type anything into the pane) and THEN closes the 'Manage Bookmarks' page, Mozilla crashes.

Hi Michael I can't reproduce this with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050316 - Seems to be Mac specific So - I've added the qawanted keywork so that hopefully someone with a Mac can reproduce and mark as "confirmed"

Thanks, Simon. It's quite a disturbing bug, so I hope it gets fixed soon.

Hmm, I can't seem to reproduce this with build 2005040509 or build 2005041309. Michael, any chance of a Talkback ID?

Stefan, I thought I had done a Talkback report, but I'll make this copy of Mozilla (20050411) crash and then do a Talkback. And then I'll download 20050413 and try that and report on it.

Stefan, I did what I said I'd do in Comment #8: I made Build 20050411 crash in the way described and filled in the resulting Talkback report, referring to this bug in my report. I have now downloaded Build 2005041309, and, indeed, the crashes no longer happen. I have changed the 'Resolve bug' to "Worksforme'.
