I've noticed the same bug too. If I try to open a file whose path contains special characters such as å, ä and ö, I get the error message (see attachment). It's annoying bug since desktop is 'työpöytä' in Finnish, so Firefox can't open any files from my desktop. I've noticed that if I drag'n'drop the file from desktop (or some other folder whose name contains special chars), Firefox opens it. But not with double clicking.
