The first name sould not be touched.

I'm using a default installation of Thunderbird 1.0.2 (english version) with the
following extensions loaded:
Enigmail v0.91.0
AboutConfig v0.4

This bug also is in Mozilla v1.7.6. The (IMO) only way to ship around this bug
is entering a display name for every entry in the address book.
I can confirm this bug.
It actually already appeared in T-Bird 0.9, I hope it should be fixed, but I
still find it in 1.0 (german), 1.0.2 (german) and 1.0.2 (english) versions
running on Win98SE.
I also see this bug with Mozilla 1.8b1, but if I choose 'Send Later' the first
name is still present until I really send the message with 'Send Unsent Messages'.
Version: unspecified → 1.0

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.

Hi,

I don't seem to have the ability to reopen the bug, but it should be. It is
still present in 1.0.6. (I'm on Windows XP.)

Thanks,
Ari

This bug is also reproducible with SeaMonkey 1.0a and 1.1a/20051013.

I have this problem with Thunderbird v1.5.0.4. It doesn't happen all the time and I haven't been able to record specifically when it does or does not happen. If I can do that I'll add it to the thread
This may be fixed in by bug 336412 in time for SeaMonkey 1.1.1 and Thunderbird 2.0 beta 2.

Would anyone be able to check this again?

Thanks.
