Have you downloaded the Patches direct from windowsupdate.microsoft.com / via
the autoupdate function or installed from elsewhere ?
Comment from reporter i got via Email directly:
Windows 2000-Hotfix (SP5) Q818043

this is the description as stated in the software
section of the system contol menue.

i downloaded all the security patches and updates
directly from the microsoft download page.

sorry about any misunderstandings.

Microsoft Patch 818043 is an L2TP/IPsec NAT-T update for Windows XP and Windows
2000 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=818043
Does it work if you run the firefox safemode ?
Mail from the Reporter to my Emailadress:

"this maybe the case, but how does your statement help
with my problem?"

eschlager@yahoo.com: Do you mean that firefox starts in safemode ? We wants to
find out if this a Firefox or Extension Problem. Firefox Safemode is Firefox
without any Extensions.

Also please reply here in your Bugzilla Case and not via Email :-)
starts in safemode, without the extensions (downloadtoolbar, foxytunes
(optional)), but there is no response from the program itself if you click any
button, only the menue for the right mouse button is working.
These symptoms are experienced when there's something wrong with chrome registry
(eg. when there's a reference to an overlay in an unexistent file in it). Safe
mode isn't working correctly in all cases yet.
