Using TBird, I get incomprehensible error messages when trying to receive mail
from this server only.

"Sending of password did not succeed. Mail server mail.wabanaki.com responded:" 

Hitting <OK>, I then get:

"Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server mail.wabanaki.com responded: USER"

(Note that the Alert message ends at the closing quote mark in the above)

Other mail servers work fine.  And I have no problem accessing the wabanaki mail
server using Microsoft Outlook using what appear to be the same settings.

I'm really not sure if this is a problem in TBird or a problem with the mail
server.  However, as I mentioned, Microsoft Outlook can handle the interaction
successfully, making me think there is something that should be tweaked in
Thunderbird.

1.Set up mail account at www.wabanaki.com with no special details
2.Try to receive mail using Thunderbird.
