Gif's appear with the wrong colour - usually just a slightly different shade of
the colour that is supposed to appear

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.go to http://www.otesha.ca/the+project/ or another site that displays gifs
that are the same colour as the background that they are set on
2.in otesha.ca you can see this in the gif called "h1_the_project.gif" which is
located just below and to the left of the main menu
3.notice that the colour is displayed as being slightly lighter than the
background colour of the site - but they are both set to: #267D26

Actual Results:  
gif displayed with different (lighter) colour than it should have

Expected Results:  
gif should display with same colour as background (#267D26)

bug 66196, bug 88023, and bug 129977 are candidates for duplicating this bug to
(unless they're duplicates of each other).

This is reproducable (for me) on OS X when set to "thousands of colors", but not
with "millions of colors".

No longer reproducable in Gecko 1.8. Resloving WORKSFORME.
