I was trying to set up a list with people before I had everyone's email address'
collected.  I had to put in a dummy email address so that I could get the people
into my list.  When I entered the same email address into multiple contacts, it
corrupted the data in the main contacts.

I think it is similar to Bug 236939 but on the Mac OS X version.
