Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-DE; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050321 Firefox/1.0.2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-AT; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041217

The commandline "mozilla -mail mailto:test@test.com" does not open an email
composer window as described on http://www.mozilla.org/docs/command-line-args.html

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.type mozilla -mail test@test.com in mozilla application path
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Mozilla Mail opens

Expected Results:
Mozilla Mail composer window opens
Version: unspecified → 1.7 Branch
No, it doesn't. (Note that the command line in "steps to reproduce" is missing
the "mailto:" scheme prefix, but you indicate it correctly earlier in the
report.) That used to work in Moz 1.4, but not since 1.5. The workaround
(thru 1.7) has been to use -browser instead.

This has changed as of Moz 1.8 -- now the -compose switch needs to be used
instead: Bug 236774. However, when 1.8 installs itself, it does not set up the
command line for mailto handling to include the -compose switch; this problem
was bug 202497.
