User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 The well known P2P file sharing client eMule (http://www.emule-project.net/) can be remote controlled by a web interface. Logins must be authorized using a password, but there is no username field. The first time I log in, Firefox asks me if I want it to remember the password, to which I answer "Yes". I can verify that the password is stored in the password manager, but the username column contains "<>", which I assume indicates an empty string. Everything looks good so far, but the next time I log in, Firefox does _not_ fill in the password automatically. (It knows not to ask if I want it remember the password a second time, though.) The HTML code for the login dialog will be included in an attachment. This bug has been verified on the following systems: Slackware Linux 10.1 Firefox 1.0.2 Mozilla 1.8a6 Windows XP SP2 Firefox 1.0.2 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install eMule on Windows, and enable the web interface 2. Direct Firefox to eMule's web interface <http://EMULE-SERVER:WEBADM-PORT> 3. Log in, and observe that Firefox will remember the password 4. Log out, and try to log in a second time. Actual Results: The login dialog is shown, but the password is not automatically filled in. Expected Results: Obviously, the password should be filled in since it _is_ stored in the password manager.

This attachment can probably not be used to reproduce the bug by itself, but it might give some insight into what causes the problem.

I also experience this bug, with Firefox 1.0.3 on Linux. It happens for instance on this URL: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/admin/nice-info/login

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050908 Firefox/1.4 Still broken.
I have the same problem using a Mac with Tiger OSX 10.4.2 This problem started after updating to the latest 1.0.6 Firefox version. After that, Firefox cannot longer remember any password. Everytime a login dialog box is shown, asks if I want to remember the information as usual, but when login back, the password is not automatically filled in. Nothing happens. Expected Results: Obviously, the password should be filled in since it _is_ stored in the password manager.
Another instance, with New York Public Library page: http://www.nypl.org/databases/ See details for reproducing, here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=2175561#2175561 -R.
