This behaviour needs to be discouraged, and instead people should be directed to the support page for that particular extension. Reproducible: Always

This patch adds a link to the extension home page on the review page, and suggests they use that for support. It also changes the name "Comments" to "Reviews." And it also stops people from posting comments less than 4 characters long, which do not provide any value. Finally, it fixes a couple of PHP warnings.

Comment on attachment 181105 [details] [diff] [review] Attempt #1 to Fix this Bug - has dependencies on another patch (bug 246746) - assumes that error is set somewhere else; it is not clear where this is ever set, and i could not find it -- could you elaborate on this? - use || instead of 'or', be consistent

1. I used "or" instead of || because that is what the original author seems to prefer. Personaly I'd rather change all or's to ||, but that would make my patch very very large. 2. I didn't mean to add a dependency on another bug, which part of the patch causes the dependency exactly? 3. Original code assumes that the page can be called with an http argument "error." I can't find any reference to this, however, I fixed up the error message in case the parameter ever does get used. Personally, I think the parameter should be used always instead of the custom error page, but once again that would be a much larger patch.

Idea: Get rid of the author's email (prevents spam) and (only if the author wants to) have a "get support for this addon" link - the addon author can point it to their documentation on the addon, or to a contact form on their website, or to a mozillazine thread, or, if they're brave enough, then can enter a plaintext or obfuscated email in there instead. If the author chooses not to put anything there, it should say "The author is currently not providing support for this addon." or something similar. Make that prominent and visible and big :) Then have a smaller, much less discoverable link to post addon reviews. On the addon review page make sure there's some bold stuff alerting the user that it's not for support.
Duping as per conversation with shaver. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 336046 ***
