290981 - Can't open additional windows

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b) Gecko/20050217

I can only open one window.  Additional windows fail silently, including
selecting Help->About Mozilla.

When I close the first window, the mozilla.exe process still shows in the task
list and I must kill that before I can restart it.

ahh but i can't open composer, get another window then with an XML error:

Is there something I can do to see what errors are being swallowed, or if the
thread that's opening the window is hanging?

Rick: Try a new profile first, Same thing there?
Then try see in Tools->Web Development->JavaScript Console, if any output is
written there when you try to open a window.

Do you have any extentions installed?

Opening new windows with Ctrl-N fails most of the time. Even Help > About Mozilla does not open a new window (there is a short period of activity/busy mouse pointer but then nothing happens).

At least in my case I do see all the newly opened windows under the Window menu item, selecting any other than the already visible and working windows does not have any effect though.

No messages in the JavaScript console.
Extensions: A9 toolbar, Web developer toolbar, Live HTTP headers

I don't remember seeing this problem and it's been six years. Closing ancient bug as INCOMPLETE. Please reopen if you still see this with SeaMonkey 2.1.
