User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3
Build Identifier: Firefox/1.0.3

It "works" in case if there is an url which was saved onto the harddrive. Then
once opened from HD it makes a leak, even if you're online. Here is the url:
http://www.paroles.net/chansons/20240.htm
And then I think it doesn't work if the page is loaded online. Maybe not.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just open firefox with that page at the HD. Nothing else.

Actual Results:
Probably, memory leak. To about 160Mb of virtual memory.
Can you please retest a current nightly trunk build.

The Gecko in Firefox1.0.X is already very old...

I will, thank you. But I'm not sure if I know what is 'gecko'. Fallout 2 pops up
in the mind firstly. :-)

Now I have installed Firefox 1.0+, but no changes have appeared. It still leaks.
(even now :-)
Michel - sorry to bother you again, but it works for me. Your reported Firefox version(s) are too old a build to analyze bugs against now. The problem you are reporting may well have been fixed already.

Could you please download a recent version or nightly build from <http://www.mozilla.org/releases/nightly.html>, and then let us know if you still see this problem?

Many thanks, Cigno
Well. Sorry for not informing for so long, actually i've almost forgot that I'd had this problem.
You're gonna laugh, but it still exists. Since last report I've upgraded my system , reinstalled windows several times, but it does. But it is a little bit neater now: it is about popup windows, which are blocked. Seems the problem is in this site and similiars.
As I mentioned, I had a system upgrade (Cel 800 -> amd64 1800), so I don't almost feel it, but with old system it was quite unstable and slow, especially when accessing the leaking window of firefox. Even now (when leaking firefox is opened) I have periodical appreciable system slowdowns (when everything hangs up for a few seconds).
And, as I said, the problem is in popup windows. During my lunch the number of popups increased up to 242000 and the memory using grew up to 270 Mb.

I can send printscreens of it and the problem page.

P.S. Forgot: Firefox 1.5.0.3. Now I'm downloading the nightly version you've mentioned.
P.P.S. Now I'm under windows 2003 server. I can test it in Linux, but a little bit later, for KDE now doesn't work.

A couple things... Michel, does this happen in Firefox 2.0.0.3 or later? And do you see the problem with a new profile as well? This works fine for me using Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Windows XP SP2 and Mac OS X 10.4.9.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20070117 Firefox/2.0.0.1

The problem disappeared. Though, the link I mentioned loaded very slowly.

Seems, the blocking popup windows politic was reviewed.
