I only hear the sound. Reproducible: Always

Please fix this problem. The problem still exists in 1.5beta1
Version: unspecified → 1.5
This has always worked for me, also with the latest build 1.5 Beta 1 (20050915).

(In reply to comment #2) > This has always worked for me, also with the latest build 1.5 Beta 1 (20050915). On OsX? If so, where does the notification get's displayed? I'm really positive that it is not displayed here.

Ok, well, I'm more than happy to help dig this thing but I'm not a (mozilla) developer. Other than that I can do/try whatever it takes to help solve this. Shouldn't there be an advanced config setting for 'show an alert'? I can see entries for alerts.height/slideincrement(time)/totalOpenTime. Nothing else. I'm running Tiger 10.4.3 and Thunderbird 1.5rc1. The sounds do play though. Needless to say I would really want this non-working feature to finally work. For me this would normally be a reason not to use Thunderbird if it weren't so that the Smart Folders in Mail.app suck so much.

Nothing happens when I get new mail. I have all of the bells and whistles clicked, but to no avail.

Reporter, does the issue still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported Thunderbird version 2 is 2.0.0.16)
