The installer overwrites my homepage setting on update. This is totally
unacceptable, there is absolutely NO situation that would justify this.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install an update
2. Home page changed by the installer
3.

Actual Results:  
My home page was changed to the firefox page.

Expected Results:  
It shouldn't change ANY of my settings.
