User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3

As the summary says, a window will close without warning or message, and I
havent been able to narrow it down to a cause, being that its so quick and
unexpected (its usually *another* open window that closes upon entering a site
in another window...)

However, and this is the strange part, it sometimes seems to reappear with all
of it child tabs when one site from that window is returned to in another
window. Its as though it wnet into hiding and then returned. (I dont know if
this always happens, but this happened at least once.)

I do not have spyware, viruses, etc. etc. and the computer is pretty new and
with lots of resource available...

Reproducible: Always
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050420
Firefox/1.0+

Two similar things can happen on the Mac:

1. The window content is completely blank, but Firefox seems to know the URL
for each tab. I have only seen this when several windows are open and the
affected window has many tabs (over 20).

2. Firefox seems to forget about some minimised windows. Sometimes it can be
coaxed into connecting with them - perhaps by hiding and unhiding, or by
clicking on the Dock icon of the running Firefox.

I had assumed that 1) was an unusual manifestation of Out Of Memory and that
2) was an OS integration issue; and that neither needed attention just yet ...

It is possible that 'window in limbo' is not always platform specific ...

bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.
