The image slide show on the subject site was the URL of a long-ago bug 62288 in Dec 2000.  We're 
back!

All 5 of the Mozilla derived browsers, that we have access to, show this problem:
Firefox Mac & PC
Mozilla Mac & Pc
Camino

No other browser, that we have access to, shows this problem:
MSIE PC & Mac
Opera PC & Mac 
Safari
iCab

First, our front page and its components load.  Then JavaScript code on the page starts a series of 
downloads of jpg files that are used in our slide show.  

On all 5 Mozilla browsers, the series ends with a final status bas message like "Reading from 
animalhead.com".

No other browser shows such a problem completing the series.

It's not a super-big deal in that all features of the page operate correctly.  It may be that the Mozilla 
browsers have the right of it, but...

HINT: This problem appeared after we shifted our Apache server to use mod_gzip, namely to send 
compressed pages.  Images are of course excepted from compression, and the download of the main 
page and its components completes successfully before the download series begins.
