TB 1.0.2, TB 1.0+0414, Win2K. IMAP account on fastmail.fm; deletion model is Mark As Deleted. If a message in this IMAP account is filtered with Mark Read and Move to Local Folder, there is no notification initially. If I am viewing the Inbox when the message arrives, I can (usually) see it appear briefly, then disappear completely, in the Thread pane. Whether or not the Inbox is selected when the message arrives, when I select the Inbox *after* the message arrives, the message reappears, marked as deleted. This is all true in Mozilla 1.8b2 builds as well as Thunderbird. However, in Thunderbird only: when the deleted message appears, I get a notification: alert, tray icon, and New flag on the account. The message status is Read. As with bug 116181, the only way to clear the tray icon and New flag is to select some other folder under the account. Steps to reproduce: 1) Set up an IMAP account with a filter that marks a message read and moves it to a local folder. 2) Send a message to that account that will trigger the filter. 3) Wait until the message arrives (watch the target folder, since there will not be any notification of the arrival). 4) Switch to Inbox Actual results: Deleted copy of message appears in Inbox and TB notifies "1 new message..." Expected results: No notification

A similar notification occurs when the account has been configured with the Move To Trash delete model, there have been some messages deleted from the Inbox, and then the account is switched to the Mark As Deleted model.

This also happens to me on Windows XP (latest patches applied). Whenever I get 1 e-mail, the notification pop-up box says 3 new messages but the folder that the mail is sorted into only says 1 (which is correct). I can't seem to reproduce this behavior on Thunderbird for MacOS X though.
