Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050421 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050421 I print-previewed this Bugzilla page for an example. When first displayed, both the right and bottom scroll bars seemed fine. On making the first scale change, the right scrollbar disappeared and only the bottom scroll bar existed. On making a second scale setting, the bottom bar disappeared and only the right bar was seen. It's slider area extended below (behind) the status bar, so the bottom (scroll-down) widget was not accessible with the mouse. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Display the print preview of a browser or mail screen 2. Observe that there are bottom horizontal and right-side vertical scroll bars. 3. Make a scale setting, even to the same setting as before. 4. Do it again. Actual Results: In step 3, the right scroll bar doesn't exist. In step 4, the bottom scroll bar doesn't exist. Expected Results: The print preview should have been displayed in the window with normal and usable bottom and right-side scroll bars after each scale setting.
Reproducible with Mozilla 1.8b1 and Mozilla 1.8b2/20050422, Print Previewing this bugpage and setting the Scale to 70%. First I see the vertical scrollbar at the right side of the window, but I don't get a horizontal scrollbar. After resetting the Scale there is no scrollbar visible and the right side of the page/window is covered by a grey area. The vertical scrollbar reappears to the left of that grey area after resetting the Scale again. I also see a grey area covering the bottom of the page/window if I change the page orientation to Landscape. This bottom grey area disappears after changing the page orientation back to Portrait and resetting the Scale, but the grey area on the right only disappears if you close and reopen Print Preview.
Related to bug 269703?
The description is about the same. I didn't notice text overlapping scrollbars though.
(In reply to comment #1) > I also see a grey area covering the bottom of the page/window if I change the > page orientation to Landscape. This bottom grey area disappears after changing > the page orientation back to Portrait and resetting the Scale, but the grey area > on the right only disappears if you close and reopen Print Preview. It seems this is Core bug 267422, the "scrollbar part" of this bug might be related too?
Scrollbars still had problems in the Win32 1.8b2 nightly I downloaded 6-8-2005.
In trying out Seamonkey (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050809 SeaMonkey/1.0a), I found that the print preview has the same behavior described initially. However, by maximizing or restoring the window, the scrollbars are restored to normal.
Same behavior in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050910 SeaMonkey/1.0a. Maximize or Restore resets the scroll bars to normal.
It's still in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20050919 SeaMonkey/1.1a. The processing to perform a "page maximize" or "page restore" should be called as a final part of the print preview code to refresh the current size of the window and fix the horizontal and vertical scroll bars.

This problem is still present in Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20051021 SeaMonkey/1.1a. When the scale is changed in a partial-sized window (not maximized), the scroll bars remain ok. Apparently the problem only occurs in changing the scale of the preview in a maximized window.
