User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

The Java Applet (f1app) loads and appears to be processing Formula 1 live timing
feed correctly. Then after a few seconds the computer blue screens and reboots.

Initially there was a problem with the Java Applet not rendering correctly (a
large portion of the applet was simply white). I think a later version of Java
has been installed though and this problem seems to have gone away. Java Version
is latest that XP has downloaded, Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_01-b08).

Problem does not occur using Internet Explorer 6.0 so I have reverted back to
using that for the Formula one races.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Wait for a Formula 1 race.
2. Go to the Formula 1 web-site (http://www.formula1.com)
3. Open the official Live Timing pages
4. Wait for the f1app to load and start processing the live feed.
5. Wait for blue screen of death (only takes 10-20s).
Actual Results:
Blue screen of death

Expected Results:
Run as normal

I can't find anything in any of the Windows Error logs that might be useful.

There is a Dr Watson log that I will attach.
Attached file Dr Watson Log File (zipped) (obsolete) —
Dr Watson log from the last machine crash.
A Blue Screen of Death is always a driver/hardware fault.
Mozilla/Firefox/JRE[Java]doesn't install drivers running in the kernel space and
that means that it's impossible that Mozilla/Firefox/the JRE can crash your
system. It also doesn't matter if this only happends with FF because FF only
triggers this bug in your driver.
You should try to analyse the BSOD and find the driver which is causing this.

Dr Watson Log File (zipped)

Ignore that attachment. The date on the log is quite old so it can't have been
the Dr Watson from the Blue Screen last night. Entering bugs at 2am obviously
isn't a good idea...
Attachment #181694 - Attachment is obsolete: true
Works fine with the latest version of the Java Plugin (Version 1.5.0 (build
1.5.0_02-b09))
Product: Core → Core Graveyard
